Over three years ago, Windham Hospital closed their labor and delivery unit leaving hundreds of current and expectant mothers with no nearby maternity services.

But advocates and healthcare workers aren’t letting management decimate their local hospital without a fight.

Join the flashlight vigil for Windham’s mothers and babies to demand a return of maternity services to the local hospital!

ACTION: Flashlight Vigil for Windham's Mothers & Babies
DATE: Monday, Nov. 13
TIME: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
LOCATION: State Capitol, 210 Capitol Ave, Hartford
Bring a flashlight!

Last year, the state’s Office of Health Strategy denied Windham Hospital’s plan to permanently close the department, but they have still refused to reopen labor and delivery services.

While the hospital is being fined for not being in compliance with state law, mothers and babies in the Windham area continue to suffer. Expectant mothers now must drive back roads to distant hospitals in hopes that they arrive in time to deliver their babies.

Show your support for mothers and their babies in Windham on Nov. 13 as we continue to demand Windham Hospital reopen its maternity services.
