Labor 2010 Kicks Off!
Local Union Coordinators at the Kick Off Unlike Labor 2006 and Labor 2008, where the Connecticut AFL-CIO was concentrating on three Congressional Districts, this year's focus is on the state as a whole. We are facing a daunting battle for Governor, an open US Senate seat and protecting Congressional seats that were won in 2008. There are also General Assembly races that will be of interest. Therefore, we are looking at having coordinators in place for all 5 Congressional Districts in the state. Local union coordinators will work with their local union to get information about the political program to their members. The program will include distribution of worksite leaflets, local union mail, labor to labor walks and phone calling to members. The Connecticut AFL-CIO is pleased to welcome Gwen Mills as the Labor 2010 Coordinator. Gwen has been released to the campaign by UNITE HERE. She will be working with the officers, Political Director and staff of the Connecticut AFL-CIO to carry out the Labor 2010 program. For more information about the Labor 2010 program, please call the office at 860-571-6191.
