Informational Picket at UConn Health

Members of the University Health Professionals (UHP / AFT Local 3837) are seeking a successor agreement for their contract with UConn Health (UCH). For months, they have sought adequate protective gear, safe patient limits, support for workplace violence and COVID-related trauma, reducing mandatory overtime and fair wage increases consistent with other hospitals.

Not only has UCH management repeatedly rejected fair proposals, but they are also trying to gut their contract and force them to accept wage freezes for two years. On top of that, the governor and elected officials are refusing to adequately fund Connecticut's only public hospital. They are also diverting federal resources that should be used for hazard pay for essential workers in order to protect the ultra-rich.

That's why UHP is inviting you to join them on Thursday, May 27, to show solidarity for fellow union members fighting for fairness.
