We have an opportunity to pass three major bills this year that will boost wages and benefits of low-wage workers throughout Connecticut.
These bills make up our Workers Equity Agenda and include One Fair Wage, expansion of paid sick days, and predictable scheduling.
Join us on April 19th for a lobby day on these three bills!
Our One Fair Wage legislation will eliminate the subminimum wage for tipped workers while still allowing for tipping. Most tipped workers have not had a raise in six years – earning only $6.38 an hour!
The Connecticut AFL-CIO is partnering with CWEALF and CT Working Families to advocate for the Workers’ Equity Agenda, which also includes the expansion of paid sick days and establishing predictable scheduling.
Don’t know how to lobby? No problem! We’ll have trainings at different points in the day to help you through the process, and we’ll have staff members that can support you every step of the way.
Want to participate, but can’t stay the whole day? No problem! You can spend as much time as you’d like with us on that day; we appreciate whatever you can do to support the work.
Need Spanish interpretation? No problem! Spanish interpretation and support will also be provided for folks who need it.
If you have any questions on our Day of Action, please reach out to our Legislative Director Jennifer Berigan at jberigan@ctaflcio.org.
