Help Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday
This Saturday, May 13th, is the 25th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!
It’s the nation’s largest one-day food drive and we need your help to make it successful. You don’t even have to leave home to help out.
Just follow these two simple steps:
- Collect and bag nonperishable food items.
- Place the bag by the mailbox for your letter carrier prior to their normal delivery time.
That’s it! Your letter carrier will pick-up the donations and deliver them to a local food bank.

In 2015, the food drive collected more than 70 million pounds of non-perishable food. This year, we hope to do even better. All food that is collected will stay and help local communities.
Check out UFCW's promotional video encouraging people to donate to the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive:
What do you mean by “non-perishable food?”
The top requested non-perishable food items are: cereal, pasta, pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals (such as soups, chili and pasta), 100% juice, peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, canned protein (tuna, chicken and turkey), beans (canned or dry). You also can donate healthy, low-sodium, low-sugar items such as beans, oatmeal and other whole grains, and canola or olive oil.
