Cannabis Workers at Still River Wellness in Torrington Join UFCW

[Torrington, CT] – The United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 371 is proud to announce the workers at Still River Wellness in Torrington have joined its Cannabis Workers Rising divisionThis historic moment marks a significant step forward for workers in the CT cannabis industry and demonstrates the company's commitment to supporting its employees.

The decision to form a union was driven by Still River Wellness’ employees' desire to have a collective voice in the workplace, negotiate fair wages, benefits, and working conditions, and ensure a safe and inclusive work environment.

"Local 371 UFCW represents workers in food processing, retail, healthcare, casinos, and many service industries. We have been a leader in fighting for good jobs in the cannabis industry, and we are thrilled to see the unionized cannabis workforce in Connecticut grow," said Ronald Petronella, President of UFCW Local 371. "We look forward to partnering with Still River Wellness to bargain a contract that improves the lives of our members while strengthening the industry in our state."

The UFCW partners with cannabis workers, patients, consumers, community allies, elected officials and business owners to achieve the shared goals of creating an industry with family-sustaining jobs and a focus on social equity. Through these partnerships and worker organizing, the UFCW's Cannabis Workers Rising division has been able to set standards throughout the industry in our union contracts.
