CT AFL-CIO Condemns Anti-Semitic Remarks by Rep. Figueroa

Ed Hawthorne, President of the Connecticut AFL-CIO, made the following statement in response to reports of anti-Semitic remarks made by Rep. Anabel Figueroa:

The Connecticut AFL-CIO strongly condemns the anti-Semitic remarks made by Rep. Figueroa. Such statements are not only abhorrent, but they stand in stark contrast to the values of equality and solidarity that make up the foundation of the labor movement.

At a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise throughout our nation, we must not allow these remarks to go unanswered, especially when made by an elected official in the state of Connecticut. We remain committed to always standing against discrimination in all of its forms.
