- Job readiness skills
- Receive support in applying to a unionized apprenticeship
- Support services available
The Apprenticeship Readiness Training Program is a free program offered to Connecticut residents to prepare them for a full apprenticeship with one of twenty-one union apprenticeship programs. In addition to the standard apprenticeship readiness training, the BTTI has also run its first pilot program in the Connecticut Department of Correction where three graduates will receive their certificates.
Immediately following the graduation, the Connecticut State Building & Construction Trades Council will hold a union apprenticeship showcase for any worker interested in applying for one of their apprenticeship programs.
Every union apprenticeship in Connecticut is not only free, but apprentices are also paid and get classroom and in the field training. The cost of the paid union apprenticeships is entirely borne by the unions and there is no cost to the state. Most importantly, the union apprenticeship programs have completion rates far exceeding the national average, with many trade unions reporting completion rates in the eightieth percentile.
