Given the ongoing threats and attacks on public education, the New Haven Federation of Teachers is organizing to stand up for our schools, fight for our communities, and protect our kids.
Quite simply, the Trump-Musk plan to gut the U.S. Department of Education and slash federal funding would devastate millions of students – especially those in underserved communities.
It's time to stand up and protect our kids and protect our schools!
Join the March to Protect Our Kids on Tuesday, March 4, with the march starting at 4:00 p.m. at Gateway Community College!
The bottom line is tax cuts for billionaires will lead directly to budget cuts for public education.
If Trump's plan to cut public education is enacted, it would:
- Strip 26 million vulnerable kids of critical educational services.
- Deny 7.5 million students with disabilities the special education support they need.
- Make college unaffordable for 10 million working-class families by slashing Pell Grants and student loans.
- Cut career and technical education for 12 million students, threatening their job opportunities.
Join the New Haven Federation of Teachers and their community partners on Tuesday, March 4.
