Rally to Save the Courant

Two years ago, the journalists at the Hartford Courant voted to form a union to fight for fair wages, benefits, and to have a voice on the job. But they also joined together in union for another critical purpose: to save local news.

The owner of the Hartford Courant is planning to sell the newspaper to Alden Global Capital, a hedge fund with a reputation for gutting vital institutions like The Courant. The hedge fund has a notorious nickname – “the destroyer of newspapers.”
