RALLY: Stand Up to Wage Theft & Worker Exploitation
Outside of Oak Grove
164 Cedar Street
Norwalk, CT 06854
Wage theft is a major problem in the construction industry.
From workers being misclassified as independent contractors to falsifying payroll records to failing to pay workers' compensation to violating prevailing wage laws, construction workers are too often victims of negligent contractors.
Construction workers in our state have had enough.
That's why members of the CT Building Trades Council will protest negligent contractors hired by the Norwalk Housing Authority who have continuously engaged in wage theft on Saturday, May 3!
RALLY: Stand Up to Wage Theft & Worker Exploitation
📅 Saturday, May 3
🕠 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
📍 Oak Grove, 164 Cedar Street, Norwalk, CT 06854
Taxpayer funded projects should not support contractors who break the law and exploit workers.
One subcontractor paid $64,000 in back wages and penalties, and a different subcontractor paid $120,000 in back wages and penalties.
A third subcontractor still owes over $200,000 in back wages.
The protest will take place outside of Oak Grove in Norwalk where subcontractors with egregious labor violations are still being used.
Join us on May 3rd to help put an end to wage theft in Norwalk.
