Stagehands Strike at Warner Theatre

The stagehands at the Warner Theatre in Torrington are on strike!

The workers, members of IATSE Local 84, are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike due to management’s unilateral changes, failure to honor the collective bargaining agreement and its refusal to adequately address contract violations.

Despite repeated efforts to resolve these issues through communication, management has not taken steps necessary to correct the violations or prevent continued economic harm to the stagehands.

IATSE even offered to allow a neutral arbitrator to resolve the dispute and avoid a strike, but Warner Theatre refused.

This strike is not about expanding demands or disrupting performances. It is about enforcing the existing agreement and protecting the rights and livelihoods of professional union stagehands.

Local 84 remains ready to return to work as soon as the employer complies with the contract and addresses the unfair labor practices.
