Connecticut AFL-CIO Endorses Luke Bronin for Congress
ROCKY HILL – The Connecticut AFL-CIO’s Committee on Political Education, which is made up of the organization’s executive board and empowered to take political action, voted today to endorse four candidates for office.
The Connecticut AFL-CIO endorsed Luke Bronin for Congress, Martha Marx for State Senate, and Wildaliz Bermudez and Eli Sabin for State House.
"We are excited to educate our members about why these candidates are the best choices for working people," said Ed Hawthorne, President of the Connecticut AFL-CIO, the state’s largest labor federation. "This election season, the Connecticut AFL-CIO plans to mobilize hundreds of rank-and-file members to knock doors, make phone calls, send mail, and help elect candidates who support working people."
The labor federation will officially kick off their election program at their annual Labor Day Breakfast on Friday, September 4, at the IBEW Local 35 union hall in Hartford.
During the 2024 election cycle, volunteers with the Connecticut AFL-CIO knocked on the doors of over 50,000 members and their families, made nearly 7,000 calls to get out the vote, sent more than 14,000 text messages, and mailed over 110,000 pieces of mail.
